The first step is to see what your school accepts for CLEP. Most colleges accept a 50 on the 20 to 80 scale, since that is the ACE-recommended cutoff, but plenty of schools set the bar at 60. Ask an adviser BEFORE you study.
Then go get your exam paid for for free! Modern States runs a free online course for most CLEP subjects, and finishing the module quizzes earns you a voucher that covers the $97 exam fee.
Many people start with studying but a better way is to take a practice test and see what you are missing. Once you run through our study guides you will have a clearer idea of what section of the subject you need to spend more time on.
In general a good place to start is on reddit, youtube, or degreeforum. Within these sites you can google the subject you are looking for and find materials for free. We're in the process of gathering prep for each subject but if you don't see the subject above you can easily do your own research.
